Bless The Lord, O My Soul
Psalms 103:1-4
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;
3 Who pardons all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases;
4 Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
I am rejoiceing in the fact that my cancer has not spread.
It is still in stage one.
Praise the Lord with me as I remain steadfast in His love and healing.
Wishing you all a very blessed week.
God Bless you all.

Strawberry Time ~ Tilda
Yum, Yum, strawberry season is fast approaching us in the North West of Oregon.
When I was young ... many years ago.....LOL... I would pick strawberries each summer and earn money for school clothes.
Made many neat friends and had loads of fun.
I remember we would freeze our cans of pop and by lunch time they would be nice and cold and thawed out enough to drink, as it was hot in the fields.
Tilda too is having fun picking some strawberries and looking cute in her summer outfit.
Colored with Copic pens. Used papers, strawberry ribbon, pearls, butterflies, and K&Company florals from my stash.
I am entering this card in these challenges:

Watermelon For All ~ Tilda
I love watermelons, and totally enjoy them all year long. Although they do get expensive in the out of season time.
History notes:
Watermelons are thought to be native of the Kalahari desert in Africa, due to David Livingstone describing them as "abundant" in that region.
According to online sources, watermelons have been introduced to North America in 1500, and Indians were found cultivating them by French explorers in the Mississippi valley.
The fruit was introduced in Massachussetts in 1629, with significant help from African slaves.
Tilda is peeking down at the watermelon seeds she just planted.
Colored with Copic pens, Used my Copic air brush on the greeting, I used a watermelon stamp by Hero Arts and colored it and used a clear glaze over the melon to make it appear shiny and sweet.
Pearls, Papers and Ribbon from my stash.
I am entering this card into these challenges:

It Is Well With My Soul
The hymn "It is Well with My Soul" becomes closest to heart for one undergoing grief. It is Well lyrics was written by a Presbyterian lawyer Horatio G. Spafford (1828-1888) and composed by Philip P. Bliss (1838-1876). This deeply touching sacred song has long been loved.
The Bible scripture reference is Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
Text Author and Hymn-writer Horatio G. Spafford
Spafford was born on October 20, 1828 in North Troy, New York. He was a successful lawyer in Chicago who maintained a keen interest in Christian activities, deeply spiritual and devoted to the scriptures.Chicago Fire and a Son's Loss
Sometime in 1871, a fire in Chicago heavily devastated the city, and months before that , Spafford had invested hugely in real estate by the shore of Lake Michigan. The disaster greatly wiped out his holdings. Before the fire, Spafford also experienced the loss of his son.Calm Before Spafford's Worst Life Storm
Two years after the fire, Horatio Spafford planned a trip to Europe for him and his family. He wanted a rest for his wife and four daughters, and also to assist Moody and Sankey in one of their evangelistic campaigns in Great Britain. He was not meant to travel with his family. The day in November they were due to depart, Spafford had a last minute business transaction and had to stay behind in Chicago. Nevertheless, he still sent his wife and four daughters to travel as scheduled on the S.S. Ville du Havre, expecting to follow in a few days. On November 22, the ship laden with his wife and daughters was struck by the Lockhearn, an English vessel, and sank in few minutes.Spafford's Wife "Saved Alone"
After the survivors were finally landed somewhere at Cardiff, Wales, Spafford's wife cabled her husband with two simple words, "Saved alone." Shortly after, Spafford left by ship on his way where his beloved four daughters had drowned, and pen at hand, wrote this most poignant text so significantly descriptive of his own personal grief – "When sorrows like sea billows roll..." The hymn "It is Well with My Soul" was born.It Is Well With My Soul
It is noteworthy that Horatio Spafford did not dwell on the theme of life's sorrows and trials, instead, focused in the third stanza on the redemptive work of Christ, and in the fourth verse, anticipates His glorious second coming. (Refer below for Cyber Hymnal's link)
Composer Philip Bliss
Philip P. Bliss, the hymn composer, was a prolific writer of gospel songs. He was so impressed with the experience and expression of Spafford's text that he shortly wrote the music for it, first published in one of the praise hymn book, Sankey-Bliss Hymnals, Gospel Hymns No. 2. Shortly after writing 'It is Well With My Soul,' Bliss died in a tragic train accident. On reflection, it is divinely amazing that one could experience such personal tragedies and sorrows as did Horatio Spafford, yet, able to say with such convincing clarity, "It is well with my soul." It is an enormous challenge to embrace the significance of this hymn.
Have a Blessed Sunday, Doreen

Going Out With Friends
Hi everyone,
I have been on the quiet side due to feeling a bit down about my health. But feeling much better now. It appears that I need to have a procedure done on May 25th to view the cancer area in my rectum. They thought it was in my colon, but it appears it is lower. My faith is very strong and I am still praying to be cancer free. Your friendship and prayers are much appreciated.
I enjoyed designing this card. I used some pearl swirls. I have a question, where do you all purchase your pearl swirls? I seem to be having trouble finding where to purchase them online. Your help is much appreciated.
I used a Cutttlebug to dry emboss the blue CS, used a scalloped border punch to do the floral DP at the bottom of the card, ribbon bows, lace, butterfly from my stash.
Tilda looks so pretty, getting ready to go out with friends. I used my Copic pens to do the coloring.
Have a fantastic day and enjoy your card designing time.
Blessings to all, Doreen

Princess Tilda
Princess Tilda, enjoying a night on the town to celebrate a friends Birthday.
Her Tiara is so nice and matches her nice pink dress.
Historical note:
A tiara is a form of crown.
Traditionally, the word "tiara" refers to a high crown, often with the shape of a cylinder narrowed at its top, made of fabric or leather, and richly ornamented. It was used by the kings and emperors of some ancient peoples in Anatolia and Mesopotamia, notably the Hittites. The Assyrians used to include a pair of bull horns as a decoration and symbol of authority and a circle of short feathers surrounding the tiara's top. The Persian tiara was more similar to a truncated cone, without the horns and feathers but more jewels, and a conic-shaped tip at its top.
I do believe Tilda's Tiara is way more pretty and very elegant in comparison to those worn by Kings and Emperors of the past.
This is a fun image of Tilda and you can do so much with the theme for her.
I used lace, pearls, flowers and ribbon from my stash.
Bg papers, and cs from SU. Leaf punch from MS.
I will enter this card in the following challenges:

I wish you all a fun day stamping and designing.

Waiting On The Lord
This whole idea of waiting goes against what we naturally do. When our natural inclination is to step on the gas, God is often telling us to hit the brakes.
Waiting is often difficult because we equate it with inactivity.
But waiting, which can also be translated as hoping, means to wait with expectation, to look for.
The implication is that we are waiting and watching with expectation towards what God is going to do.
During these periods of waiting, God is often refueling and refining us for what He has in store.
Everything around you needs to be refueled after much use. Your car has to stop for gas, your body needs to sleep, and your cell phone needs to be recharged.
So, why can’t this be the case with our spiritual life as well?
What may seem like inactivity from our perspective is often purposeful preparation from God’s perspective.
Be encouraged that those who wait end up even stronger after the Lord renews them.

Isaiah 40:29-31
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
29 He gives strength to the weary,
And to him who lacks might He increases power.
30 Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
31 Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
Have a blessed day in the Lord

Watering Flowers ~ Tilda
Today was a busy day for me, I was sorting through a box of family photo's. So many wonderful memories.
I am kind of the family historian and so I keep photo's and share stories about them in note books.
I do a lot of family genealogy and it is fun to learn about my ancestors.
Speaking of fun.. I enjoyed using my floral nestie embossed pink cs for this card.
In thinking spring and flowers I was able to use my Copic air brush on these wonderful white roses, with some leaves made by my MS leaf punch. And also added a touch to green to my nestie round scalloped circle.
CS by SU, I really love this cute Tilda image, watering can in hand with a garden shovel.
How cute is that. Ribbon from my stash.
