Singing Praises

No one really knows where the harp originated and we will never know what harp music sounded like in the pre-historical era. In Egypt, some of the earliest images of bow harps are from the Pharaoh's tombs dating some 5,000 years ago.

Vertical harps with 2 arms also known as lyre harps or "lyres" also began appearing in ancient Sumaria by 2800 BC. Some of the oldest carvings of harps were discovered in Phoenicia with marble harp statuettes found dating back to 3,000 - 2,300 BC.

Psalm 71:22-23
I will also praise You with a harp, Even Your truth, O my God; To You I will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.

My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You;
And my soul, which You have redeemed.

David in the Psalms took many opportunities to Praise the Lord in music.
Let us today sing and Praise the Lord with all our hearts.
With thanksgiving and Praises let us sing with a smile on our faces no matter what challenge we are facing.

Have a blessed day in the Lord as we sing to His Praise.
Blessings, Doreen
